Trent Holmes - Senior Associate

Trent has considerable experience of M & A activity, which has been focussed recently on the telecoms market serving the Government and defence sectors.

During 2002 he was retained as Managing Director of Global Crossing (UK) with the aim of achieving a trade sale of this part on the Global Crossing business by focussing on future business plans and an improved organisational structure. The assignment required the production of an Information Memorandum and overseeing all commercial, financial, and technical due diligence; working along side the financial advisers and provisional liquidators in the UK and USA.

During 2001 Trent was engaged in two start-up enterprises with Pangea, and Vine Telecom. In both these companies responsibility was held for investor relations and corporate financing needs.

From 1993 to 2000 senior posts were held with Racal Network Services and upon the acquisition of BR Telecoms in 1996 Trent became Director, Customer Services for Racal-BRT. This challenging appointment required the fusion of cultures from the public and private sectors to ensure business volume was maintained and railway industry contracts renewed after the initial term, a task achieved which displayed considerable team leadership skills.

From late 1997 responsibility was assumed for the International Carrier Services division of the newly established Racal Telecom business where tasks included the chairmanship of a joint venture with Metromedia Fibre Network (USA) and acting as a founding director of the Dublin London network company. In 3 years revenue growth was achieved from $8M to $100M annually.

The added value created within the Racal Telecom business secured the sale of the company to Global Crossing in late 1999 for a consideration in excess of £1 billion.
